A five-part poster series pulling from Greek mythology and history — the Pantheon's court, the last stand at the pass, the advancing phalanx, the arrival of twilight, and the fall of Troy. Classical paintings are stripped down, textured like worn canvas, and rebuilt with bold blackletter type and repeating aphorisms — turning each scene into something closer to ancient propaganda than fine art.
Every civilization leaves behind more than ruins — it leaves behind its myths, retold until they harden into truth. This series takes five of those moments — divine, mortal, and everything between — and gives them a second skin: canvas grain, blackletter type, and the kind of repetition that makes a line feel carved rather than written.
Each poster follows the same system — a classical painting roughened with texture, framed by a color-coded band, and anchored by a single word turned into a title: GATHERS. HOLDS. ADVANCES. ARRIVES. DECEIVES. Flanking the type, a pair of short verses runs the same rhythm every time — cause and consequence, burden and order — so that across five completely different scenes, the reader starts to feel the pattern before they finish reading it. That repetition is the point: myths don't survive because they're accurate, they survive because they repeat.
